The Women CTO Dinner: A vibrant community of women in tech leadership π
A couple of weeks ago, I had the opportunity to grab breakfast with an amazing woman who shared a bit of her story and her mission of fostering tech leadership in European women.Β
As a person who changed careers from business to the tech industry, early on Karla SchΓΆnicke was looking for role models of women in tech, women in leadership positions that would inspire her in her career.Β
Then in 2018, at her new job, for the first time in her life, she met a female CTO in person but when asked whether she knew any other women CTOs, that woman replied with βOnly oneβ.Β
Karla was convinced that there had to be more than one woman CTO in Germany, let alone Europe, so she went through LinkedIn to look for them, finding that indeed there were not many women CTOs around.
However, she did find a bunch of them in the end, and in November 2019, 8 women CTOs sat around a table in a pre-pandemic restaurant in Berlin, and the Women CTO Dinner was born. β A vibrant community of high-ranking women in tech leadership in Europe who enjoy technical discussions, networking, and good food.Β
Taking the International Womenβs Day opportunity, I would like to invite all women in tech from our Lidr community to participate in the upcoming Virtual Women CTO Dinner taking place on March 15th at 19:00 CET.Β
π Please, contact Karla SchΓΆnicke on LinkedIn to save your seat.
If you know a woman who knows how valuable this community can be for her, feel free to share this newsletter. She is more than welcome as well :)
At Lidr.co, we are deeply committed to getting women into tech leadership roles and making them more visible. I have personally got a lot of value out of being supported by women leaders during my career, and I want the world to know what they can get too.Β
For one reason or another, you have been a key ingredient for Lidrβs success in the early days, and I want to thank you all for that. Either as ambassadors, collaborators, or Igniters, you moved the needle. πΒ
Best,Β
Alvaro Moya
