Why personal branding can help you get ahead in tech 💊
More and more companies are recruiting the best tech talent because of the industry’s boom in recent years.
There is a huge opportunity for techies right now, and it is no secret that these profiles are among the best-paid professionals in today’s market.
You may be the best at what you do, but how will recruiters find you if no one knows who you are and what you do? That’s the starting point of personal branding.Â
If you want to stand out in big startups and their challenging positions, you must learn to communicate your essence, value proposition, and why you are different from others.Â
Or, on the other side, if you are looking to become a tech entrepreneur and no one knows you, it will be harder to start influencing people.Â
Keep in mind that a personal brand is not a logo or an Instagram account. Your brand is the mark you leave on others. It is the combination of skills, experience, and personality that you want the world to see about you.
In order to build your brand, it’s key to have a clear and defined strategy!
Like any strategy, it includes a series of points that start with the initial state: Where you are now — What is your goal — Where you want to get — and how you will achieve it.Â
I want to share my results from a year till today working on my personal brand on LinkedIn.Â
As you see, it requires time and effort, but once you get it, results will be unstoppable. Sharing your knowledge, impacting others, and living from your passion it’s worth it!
👉 If you want to start today, let me share 5 learnings I got during the journey.
1. Set goals. What do you want to achieve? Find a job? Get clients? Generate influence?
2. It’s ok to show the human side. Be yourself and share your experiences.
